Description
From the Envelope Back
Adapted from the traditional Egyptian galabia (long men’s robe), this shirt may be made in various ways for either men or women. The original garments are ankle-length and unadorned; we offer a modern shirt-length version which may be left plain or decorated with contrasting yoke, applique or soutache braid in typical designs, and/or hand-made cording and knotted buttons. Instructions for handwork are included in this pattern, as well as suggested fabric layouts to make the long galabia. This shirt is very loose-fitting with slightly flared sleeves curving under the arms to meet side panels with slit pockets, and front and back yokes which can be turned to either the inside or outside. Pattern pieces have different cutting lines for sizes ranging from slender women to extra-large men.

Let me know if you’d like to see the envelope back. Medium size has 55″ width at hem and is 28″ long. The envelope measures 11-1/8″ x 8-5/8″ and the pattern is printed on white bond paper. The copyright year is 1976.

See photo. The envelope is in very good condition for age with some wear and some tears at the corners as would be expected. The pattern and instruction sheets are as new in original factory folds. No names or other markings. From clean, smoke-free home.
Shipping
Generally sent the same day you pay. Unless you request otherwise, I will back this with one piece of box cardboard (to help prevent the Post Office from bending it), wrap it in plastic wrap (to help protect the item from moisture or torn packaging), then send inside a manila envelope when sent via First Class Mail with Delivery Confirmation. This is the cheapest postage option that includes both item protection and tracking. See the shipping page to give you an estimate on the cost of a First Class 2 package. I am delighted to combine postage and insurance costs if you purchase more than one item. The second item may travel for free or just a few cents more — so it’s worth taking a look at my other items before you complete your order.
