Heavy brass crest (7″ x 5-1/2″) on a nice Koa Wood (9-1/2″ x 8″) base. The USS Knox (FF-1052) “Fast Frigate” was the lead ship of the class with a long & honorable service life. No presentation plate, plaque was given to Wardroom of USS Francis Hammond (FF-1067) during time both ships were forward deployed to Japan, as the so-called “Japanese Frigates,” which steamed around a lot with USS Midway. These frigates were “fast,” with both boilers steaming, and going “down hill!” Armed with 5-inch gun, ASROC & Harpoon & some with CIWS for self-defense. Desert Storm of 1991 may have been their “Last Hurrah,” as War Reserve materiel was released for the final years of operations of the Class. Generally sent same day payment arrives — and unless you request otherwise, I will wrap in bubble wrap, then send inside a box that travels First Class with Delivery Confirmation tracking. I can certainly use more protective packaging and a faster service or add insurance if you wish any of these services. See the shipping page to give you an estimate on the cost of a First Class 4 package. I am delighted to combine postage and insurance costs if you purchase more than one item.
