Every time Tomas begged his father to take him along on one of this trading trips to Mexico, he said, “You are too young and the trip is too hard.” This time Tomas especially wanted to go, not only because his own buro, Barba Grande, which meant Big Beard, was going but he also wanted to earn 135 pesos for a sewing machine for his mother, so she wouldn’t have to stay up all night sewing by hand. His father finally agreed, and they started out on the long trip. It was hard work but he also enjoyed some fiestas. Tomas proved his mettle in his trading, and his wish came true in the happiest way.

Condition
See image above. Former library book with the usual markings. The dust jacket was protected inside plastic sleeve. The binding is tight and strong. The pages are in very good condition but for first few with some handling and pin holes. No personal names or markings noted. From clean, smoke-free home.
