This book prints the words of 150 of the best-known hymns in the English language with an accompanying commentary on each. It is a personal selection, but I hope a representative one, which covers every branch of hymnody in the English language, from translations of the office hymns of the Early Church, through metrical psalmody, seventeenth-century devotional verse and the classics of Wesley and Watts to American gospel songs and contemporary choruses. The only category which I have excluded is Christmas carols, and that is simply for reasons of space. They really deserve a book to themselves.

Condition
Enlarge the photo above. In very good condition overall with some storage on the cover as shown. The pages are as new and it feels like this book was never used. No names or other markings. From clean, smoke-free Christian home.

Unless you request otherwise, I will wrap the book in plastic wrap to help protect it from the elements, create a custom-made cardboard box to ship it in, and send via Media Mail with Delivery Confirmation tracking.
