Description

The Story
Plain and Peanut were playing outside in the snow one moonlit Christmas Eve. Peanut decided he would stay up to see Santa. About then Santa and the sleigh flew overhead — and something fell out of the sleigh: a teddy bear. Peanut thought it was for them, but Plain saw the tag; it was meant for Melissa. They realized they had to find Santa so he could get it to Melissa. They followed the sound of bells to carolers, boot prints to a man walking a dog, but orange snowflakes (carrot flakes) took them (by chance) to Melissa’s rooftop where Santa was feeding his reindeer. Santa was glad to see the missing teddy, and invited Plain and Peanut to follow him down the chimney. Santa filled Melissa’s stocking, and then they heard a sleepy Melissa coming down the stairs. Santa disappeared, Plain and Peanut hid behind the tree. Melissa scooped up the teddy bear and went back to her room. Plain and Peanut waved goodbye to Santa. When the two got home they found Santa’s Helper hats and a note from Santa.
