Description

From the Dust Jacket
Researchers in such fields as engineering, the physical sciences, agriculture, biology, psychology, and medicine will find this an indispensable ready reference. It presents in outline form the most frequently used statistical techniques with computing formulas and completely worked-out examples for each. The authors include all the material necessary for solving a given problem in applied statistics in one place, and explain each notation whenever it appears. In addition they state explicitly the assumptions underlying each method. With this manual as a guide, the untrained person will be able to carry out necessary calculations with minimum explanation; and the trained person will be relieved of the necessity of remembering detailed computational procedures for each method. The material is divided into two major sections: (1) Concepts and Terminology and (2) Methods, and includes line drawings, a bibliography, and statistical tables. With its complete coverage of the most important methods of experimental statistics and its complete and highly diversified examples, it is a manual that belongs on every researcher’s desk.
