Wyoming territory 1872, and Fort McKeogh was virtually deserted, the entire regiment sent off to fight at Powder River, when Colonel Bexar got the dispatch that Hat, a notorious Indian war chief, had broken out of the reservation and was heading up to Galena on Loon Creek for a rendezvous with the Teton Indians. There were just thirty-eight men who could be mustered to stop the war-dance at Loon Creek — the lame, the halt, the drunks — and they would have to be lead by an ex-Confederate Captain nobody trusted….

See photo above. In very good condition for age with lighter handling and stains on the covers as shown. The spine has not been opened/creased. The pages are toning from age but in very good condition with stain on edge of maybe 6 pages. No name or other markings found. From clean, smoke-free, healthy home.
