The Story
In this vivid and poignant drama of women in war, a hospital transport freighter is battling storm winds through a sector strewn with deadly floating mines. The nurses have been on duty almost constantly through long, grueling hours, and with the knowledge that only a miracle can see the ship safely through the night. Nurse Grayson, the head nurse, is stern, unfeeling, machine-like, and hated by the others. She has no memories, no illusions, and because the one prayer of her life has not been answered, no hope for the hereafter. Nurse Fleming breaks under the strain, not so much because she fears death, but because of what may, or may not, lie beyond. In a strange and bitter-sweet climax, Nurse Grayson’s prayer is answered, and Nurse Fleming resumes her duties, no longer afraid of the dark wind. 3F, 1M, Interior

Condition
See photo above. The script is fragile with pages taped into place (by previous owner). As a result of how this was done, some stick out past the covers (as shown). Some pages have edge tears or chips, but all pages are here and perfectly readable. Personal name stamp on the cover, and company name/address change stickers on the front as shown. But no markings found inside.
Shipping
Generally sent the same day payment arrives. Unless you request otherwise, I will wrap the book in plastic wrap to help protect it from the elements, create a custom-made cardboard box to ship it in, and send via Media Mail with Delivery Confirmation tracking. See the shipping page for the cost to send a one-pound Media Mail package. Insurance is an additional cost as described. I am delighted to combine postage and insurance costs if you purchase more than one item. The second item may travel for free or just a few cents more — so it’s worth taking a look at my other items before you complete your order.
