About the Story
“Max lived at 13 Monster Lane. His family was like any family. Except they each had four horns, three eyes, two noses, and one tail.” One day Max when to meet his friends. They couldn’t think of anything to do. Max wandered down the beach and ran into a boy named William. Max thought boys only existed in fair tales. But he played with William all day and William showed him how to use his imagination to have fun. When he tried to introduce William to his family and friends, he disappeared. The next day they played with each other again. He friends saw Max jumping and laughing and having fun. He explained he was with William, but they laughed at him. They were bored, and Max was not. The next day his friend Marty was having fun with Daniel (a boy). The two monsters and the two boys played all day – but Myron just sat there and scoffed at the very idea of boys. Then the following day, Myron had a new friend, too: Sam. The three monsters and three boys played and played. When they ran to the end of the beach they saw Max’s sister talking an laughing with Sue – a girl.
