Description

From the Envelope Back
The introduction of “the horseless carriage” into American life at the dawn of the twentieth century presented ladies with a dilemma in dressing: how to protect their fancy, feminine apparel from the dust and grime of motoring in an open automobile? The smart and sensible solution was a loose-fitting unlined coat called, fittingly, a “duster.” Our original duster possesses a silhouette so simple yet so subtly fitted that it can take its place in any contemporary wardrobe. Flared princess seams, double breasted front, and classic notched collar and lapels lend a traditionally tailored fit and look. Curved two-piece sleeves with shaped cuffs add a vintage touch. Generous patch pockets have shaped flaps. View A is a contemporary street length, low calf-length on a 5’6” tall person. View B falls to the ankle and preserves the two deep back seam pleats of the original. Your duster can run the gamut from sportswear to evening wear, depending on your choice of fabric, be it rugged denim, fine linen, or gabardine. Try it in water repellent poplin for a terrific raincoat.

Shipping
Generally sent the same day you pay. Unless you request otherwise, I will back this with one piece of box cardboard (to help prevent the Post Office from bending it), wrap it in plastic wrap (to help protect the item from moisture or torn packaging), then send inside a manila envelope when sent via First Class Mail with Delivery Confirmation. This is the cheapest postage option that includes both item protection and tracking. See the shipping page to give you an estimate on the cost of a First Class 4 package. I am delighted to combine postage and insurance costs if you purchase more than one item. The second item may travel for free or just a few cents more — so it’s worth taking a look at my other items before you complete your order.
