Description

From the Dust Jacket
In tribute to the Covered Bridges, award winning artisans from Madison County, Iowa, commemorate these treasures in a heartwarming collection of poetry, art, and quilts — Bridges in Time. This keepsakes collection features poetry written out of reverence for the Bridges by award-winning poet Rob Hoskinson. Well-known local artist, Mary Courtney depicts each of the six remaining Covered Bridges in detailed pen-and-ink illustrations. And featured quilts from prize-winning designers, collectors and nationally-recognized quilters Marianne Fons and Liz Porter and the Madison County Quilt Company are reminiscent of the era of the building of the bridges. Preserved for future generations with a unique wooden covering, the Bridges of Madison County were a treasure hidden for more than a century in the heartland of America. Suddenly, through the pages of a simple story of enduring love, they have captured the hearts of romantics around the world. The historical and mystical aura that surrounds the Covered Bridges and the rich heritage of Madison County blend the past with the present in this inspirational new gift book – Bridges in Time!
