John F. Kennedy, 35th President of the United States. On January 20, 1961, Kennedy challenged America and the World to fulfill a greater vision for the future. He called it “The New Frontier.” Minimum wage, the Peace Corp, and the U.S. space program were centerpieces in an ambitious drive to realize the potential of national pride and human dignity. And from the ashes of the Bay of Pigs emerged a foreign policy based on flexibility, strength and honor that averted nuclear disaster over the Berlin Wall and Cuban Missile Crisis. It was an age of unrest met by the dynamic embrace of an exuberant leader and his determination to achieve man’s unfinished agenda.
