Description

From the Book Back
When Sara Crewe first entered Miss Minchin’s boarding school, she had everything a girl could want — a pretty room and a pony, beautiful dresses and her beloved Emily, who was much more than a doll. And her father had promised her that in no time at all they would be together again. Sara truly looked like a little princess, and, as the “show pupil,” she was treated like one. Then, without warning, her whole world changed. Instead of lovely clothes she wore tatters, and she was forced to work at the hardest, meanest jobs for every scrap of bread she ate. The dramatic changes in Sara’s life, and how she finally triumphed, with the help of a mysterious stranger, make a wonderful story that has brought tears and laughter to generations of readers.
